peopleCare Communities continues its support of MEDA’s Nigeria Way

Although peopleCare Communities’ vision is to change the world of senior living, they have also aspired to change the world for women entrepreneurs in developing countries for several years now, through an ongoing partnership with MEDA.

MEDA is an international economic development organization whose mission is to create business solutions to end poverty. Their goal is not to provide a hand-out, but rather a hand-up, offering economic development tools that are meant to ultimately enable self-sufficiency among women, youth and the rural poor.

In the past two years alone, through the collective efforts of peopleCare and its valued partners, more than $1.2 million has been generated for MEDA projects.

This year peopleCare is supporting MEDA’s Nigeria Way which will benefit 41,000 people by providing struggling women and youth entrepreneurs with the tools, knowledge and access to capital through loans to become self-sufficient and earn a sustainable living.

This summer, peopleCare is once again inviting all partners across the senior living and long-term care community to help them in supporting MEDA’s Nigeria Way.

There are two main ways to get involved in this worthwhile cause – by joining or supporting the Women Walking to Grow (WW2G) Trek, or by getting involved in their annual golf tournament.

The annual WW2G Trek (July 18-21, 2019) brings health care professionals together to walk 100 km of the Bruce Trail over four days.

“The trek creates an opportunity to walk together for a common goal, supporting the Nigeria Way, as well as leadership, networking and team development,” says Jenn Killing, Vice President, Quality, Innovation and Retirement Operations.

There is also an option for guests to join the group for one day on Saturday, July 20, walking either 10 km or 20 km, to be followed by a celebration barbecue.

And on August 9, peopleCare will host its annual golf tournament at Cambridge Golf Club. This entertaining day of golf, great food, contests and prizes is also being held in support of MEDA’s Nigeria Way.
